Just Peachy: Rooftop Outfit of the Day!

Hi everyone! Delayed flight in Charlotte so here I am writing a quick lil post! Here’s a quick OOTD from Sunday when my boyfriend came back to NYC (and I left for Charlotte right after for my #HBOcollege training!!). It’s just a simple peach lace romper from Necessary with a sleek pony and Sam Edelman glitter flats.                   Fun fact: the last pic made it to the NYC snap story!!!! Xo, Julia

Outfit of the Day: Soho Stroll

Hello beauties! Just wanted to share a quick outfit of the day with my friend, Nikita! It was a perfect day of shopping, finding soho swing sets, and devouring Dominique Ansel cookie shoots. I just found a new straw hat on the street for $15 and am obsessed! The style is super flattering and easy to pull off, even for non-hat people. Hope you all are having an amazing Saturday! xo, Julia

A Beautiful Little Fool: Jazz Age Lawn Party 2015

Hello my loves! This weekend was the NYC Jazz Age Lawn Party, which means that governor’s island, a 15 minute ferry from Manhattan, magically transforms into a East Egg fairytale of cropped hair and garter-hugged flasks. I went with my Kappa sister, Erin, and the rest was twentieth century history. Here are some photos of my lovely Saturday in 1927. If you live in the NYC area, please, please go to the event August 15th or 16th! There is jazz, dancing, glittering headbands and feathery frocks for sale, and unapologetically nostalgic twenty-somethings laying in the sun, trying to forget about the phones in their pockets. Here’s the ticketing information: http://www.jazzagelawnparty.com/tickets.html XO, Julia

Queen of Coney Island: Outfit of the Day

Happy Wednesday! Because I am in between the end of school and the beginning of interning (I got an internship doing paralegal work at a small corporation!), I’m finding ways to spend time without actually working. Before my boyfriend leaves for LA to do movie things, we went to Coney Island for some sunshine and funnel cakes. I’ve never done “Outfit of the Day” posts before, mostly because so far I’ve only posted in winter, when my uniform consists of a down coat and barely-salvaged-by-high-heeled Uggs. I bought this coordinate outfit at Necessary Clothing, a local boutique in NY with an online store as well. And no outfit is complete without a sorority tote and a bag of cotton candy. “A Twist of Lime” flip flops are Kate Spade, found at Marshall’s for $20! XO, Julia

Strawberries and Sunshine: Picnic for Four!

Hello beauties! It is finally warm and sunny out and I am stuck indoors with International Politics textbooks and the lovely essays by Berkley. Thankfully, my lovely Kappa sisters and I made the time for a super chic picnic! For a warm and sparkling picnic, bring fresh fruits, an easy, breakable bread and different jams! We brought madelines, grapes, and Pellegrino! Break out the nautical dresses, hot pink lips, pink accessories, and flowing florals. Also, everyone should go check out my sister Irene’s blog!  http://irene-anna.blogspot.com Back to studying! Xo, Julia

DIY Glitter Easter Eggs!

Happy Easter and Passover! I just wanted to share a quick and cute way to decorate eggs with a glittery fabric (I had an old glitter ribbon), scissors, nail polish, and acrylic paint!! 1. First I just painted the half the eggs in solid colors with acrylic paint and let dry for 10 minutes. 2. I painted the other half with glitzy gold nail polish! Also dried in 10 minutes. 3. Use nail polish on acrylic eggs and vice versa to make simple polka dots! 4. While that’s still wet, take the glittery fabric/ribbon/bath bomb/anything with glitter (or literal glitter in a tube if you’re a real person) and scrape with the edge of scissors. The glitter will fall on the eggs and stick to the polish! Overall this took me like 20 minutes and they came out beautifully!! Happy Easter and passover, and happy Spring for everyone else!! Xo, Julia

Cabana Cool: Ice-Whites for Spring and Summer

Hello my darlings! I am posting from the endless summer that is Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I have been living in feather-light linens, sweet pastels, and ocean-kissed curled locks. Makeup inspired by that one Marilyn Monroe beach photoshoot (cue green sweaters and too-pink lips), and American Apparel Cali Sun & Fun one piece inspired by the strong Costaricense sun not agreeing with my Polish complexion (burns on burns). Layering ruffled whites and creams creates a luxe yet airy way to frolic in the sun. Silly costume sunglass pieces (mine $3 from 1960’s Sur de France) bring life to too-perfect ice whites. Hasta luego, beauties! xo, Julia

Spring Recipes: Sparkling Grapefruit Tarts

Hi darlings! I am so excited for spring that I’m already coming up with amazing new fresh and fruity recipes. This grapefruit tart is refreshing and sweet. Perfect with a light white or oolong tea! Crust: 1 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter Filling: 2 eggs zest of 1/2 a  grapefruit 1 cup ruby red grapefruit juice 1/2 cup sugar squeeze of lemon 2 Tbsp all purpose flour Set the oven to 350. Combine the butter, flour and sugar and press the crust evenly into the pan. Bake the crust for 15 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour the filling onto the hot crust, and then return to the oven for another 25 minutes. Cool completely in the refrigerator, and then dust with powdered sugar before serving. xo, Julia

Post-Valentine’s Day Musings

Happy belated Valentine’s Day! I have to say I’m having a bit of post-holiday depression. This weekend was so magical. Thank you to my amazing boyfriend and family and lady friends. I felt like a princess all weekend with champagne, strawberries, and dancing all night.  Everyone deserves the royal treatment! I just wanted to take this time to express how amazing the people in my life are and how everyone deserves to be told how loved and appreciated they are this time of year. Thank you to everyone, I love you. Love each other. xo, Julia
