Just Peachy: Rooftop Outfit of the Day!

Hi everyone! Delayed flight in Charlotte so here I am writing a quick lil post! Here’s a quick OOTD from Sunday when my boyfriend came back to NYC (and I left for Charlotte right after for my #HBOcollege training!!). It’s just a simple peach lace romper from Necessary with a sleek pony and Sam Edelman glitter flats.                   Fun fact: the last pic made it to the NYC snap story!!!! Xo, Julia

Career: Get Your Dream Internship

Hi lovelies!! I always attend so many networking and career conferences (#findspark) and always learn an insane amount from recruiters, mostly about what I’m doing wrong. Here are some of the best-kept HR secrets. Step 1: Finding the Job, When It’s Not Posted Online: Have you ever noticed your classmates sign on to this amazing internship that you can’t even apply to online? This has always baffled me that there are secret internships. Mostly, it is because they keep the internships within references. So, if an intern is leaving, she recommends her friend. That sort of thing. So how do you POSSIBLY apply to this? If you don’t have a LinkedIn, make one. I cannot stress how important this is!! So many jobs nowadays are placed exclusively on LinkedIn, and recruiters often are too lazy to look for your resume in the huge database after an interview, so they’ll do a quick search. Get one. This takes a little bit of confidence and is often out of many people’s comfort zones, but search for the …

Outfit of the Day: Soho Stroll

Hello beauties! Just wanted to share a quick outfit of the day with my friend, Nikita! It was a perfect day of shopping, finding soho swing sets, and devouring Dominique Ansel cookie shoots. I just found a new straw hat on the street for $15 and am obsessed! The style is super flattering and easy to pull off, even for non-hat people. Hope you all are having an amazing Saturday! xo, Julia

Queen of Coney Island: Outfit of the Day

Happy Wednesday! Because I am in between the end of school and the beginning of interning (I got an internship doing paralegal work at a small corporation!), I’m finding ways to spend time without actually working. Before my boyfriend leaves for LA to do movie things, we went to Coney Island for some sunshine and funnel cakes. I’ve never done “Outfit of the Day” posts before, mostly because so far I’ve only posted in winter, when my uniform consists of a down coat and barely-salvaged-by-high-heeled Uggs. I bought this coordinate outfit at Necessary Clothing, a local boutique in NY with an online store as well. And no outfit is complete without a sorority tote and a bag of cotton candy. “A Twist of Lime” flip flops are Kate Spade, found at Marshall’s for $20! XO, Julia

Spring Cleaning, But Like, For Your Life

I’ve never liked New Year’s Resolutions. Perhaps because they’re a cliché and I want to seem cool and different (even when I’m not), but here’s something about Spring and blooming and melting snow that elicits that very instinct in me. Here are a few little things to remember while the ice melts. 1. Forget, but also don’t forget how pretty you look when you read Baudelaire in a tea shop; be surprised, but also not surprised, when you get 5 different people’s numbers on napkins when you leave. 2. Stop watching Netflix. Pull yourself together. 3. It’s okay to be a feminist and still want a cute boy to buy you dinner. 4. Write handwritten thank you notes, even for your roommate doing your sines or for your friend who called you when you were sad. Manners go a long way, and it’s an excuse to fuel your online shopping addiction with Anthropologie stationary. 5. Buy a wicker basket to put your lunch in, and you will never feel cuter. 6. Pretend the Chanel you wear is your natural scent …

Hey La, My Boyfriend’s Back: High Collars, Higher Standards

Hey la, hey la. Duwop duchesses in long skirts, color blocked clothes, and lacy details. Forget every winter fashion rule and jump straight to pearly whites. Vogue proclaimed in this month’s issue that Uggs are back in style when paired with long skirts and flowing fabrics for a laid-back San Francisco vibe. Patterned tights keep you warm while still bringing attention to your puffy coat-adorned figure. Models (who curated own outfits): Anastasia O’Neill and Amanda Pentak. Everyone check out Amanda’s beautiful nail blog here. xo, Julia

The Secrets to Scrapbook Stardom

It is my belief that in this digital age, people do not look through photo albums as often as they should with Facebook right at their fingertips. Because I have a 1 month break from NYU, I decided to scrapbook my entire life (skipping middle school, obviously). I’ve decided to share the best scrapbooking tips I have! Firstly, the key to a great composition is layering to the point of simulated 3-Dimension. By cutting out people, cakes, and other cute images and putting them on top of each other, a beautiful display is created. Secondly, I was at first daunted by the price of scrapbooking paper and stickers. Michael’s always has 40% off coupons, however, for Jollee’s 3D stickers. I also recommend buying a complete scrapbook with paper, which can be found at Outlet stores. I found mine at Marshall’s for $10 each. I made 3 scrapbooks (high school, freshman year, and sophomore year) for $45, so roughly $15 each including stickers. For photo prints, I recommend just going on Snapfish.com and connecting to Facebook. …
